LETS GO SOMEWHERE

~New Orleans ~

tURNING WORK INTO PLAY CAN BE HARDER THAN IT LOOKS SO HERES WHAT I FOUND THAT MADE The TRANSITION a little EASIER ..

Recently my husband and I went to New Orleans for a work trip.

We were working from around 8:30am to 5:00pm every day.

Everything we did is listed at the bottom!

1) BEFORE BOOKING YOUR HOTEL LOOK AT WHATS NEARBY

This one may seem obvious but let me be more specific. If you know in advance, you’ll be getting up early, depending on how much sleep you need, (for me that’s as much as possible) it’s nice to know that once you get back to your room there’s dinner and drinks nearby. Possibly even in your hotel. This way I could still get some much-needed shut eye.

2) ASK FOR RECOMMENDATIONS & DONT BE SCARED TO BE SPECIFIC

I knew from a simple google search what was close by. Talking to our doorman and uber driver I learned a lot more. After a few nights of traditional Po’ Boys I wanted a great oyster bar and one without a mile long line.

3) DONT OVER THINK YOUR DAY TO NIGHT PACK LIGHT

It’s easy to get caught up in all the “day to night” looks and overpack. Stop that. Depending on your work here are some staples I found worked great for a few looks.

- black tights

- white reeboks

- black booties

- lose boyfriend jeans

- one long tan blazer

- one white tee

- one warm parka

- one knee length black silk skirt

- one blue baggy sweater

If you're looking for somewhere with paradisaic sunsets and great surf, visiting Nicaragua is a must. People come from around the world to visit this surf and sun destination. It’s absolutely beautiful while still maintaining affordability.

We stayed in a beachfront villa, Fort Walker. I’ll link below. Its open airy interior was constantly filled with a warm breeze and beautiful light.

From the kitchen you can go straight to the pool and see the gorgeous mountains and ocean waves. Then relax on the upper deck as the sun is setting in the evening immediately to your right.

We were only a short walk from delicious fish tacos at Pili’s and delicious hand-crafted cocktails during happy hour at Taqueria. Everything made with all the fresh ingredients. All the while breathtaking views and non-stop relaxation.

Don’t let the commute from the airport to Emerald Coast sway you. It will be about a 3 hour trek. But worth it! With surf spots as close as Panga Drops 0.1 miles away. Plus, daily surf lessons if you want to give it a go once you get to this area there is no reason to leave. So absolutely book your flight to Managua today!
